Facilities

Our Grounds
Fairhall School’s grounds have many large trees for shade, and edible and native gardens have been established with the close involvement of students and families.  Our large playing fields and netball and tennis courts are used extensively during school time and at lunchtime for a variety of sports and games.  A junior playground as well as a more senior adventure playground are available for the use of students and adventurers outside of school hours. There is a car park along the southern boundary of the school.

Library
The library is open during lunch and break times as well as for information literacy classes. It boasts an extensive range of fiction and non-fiction books and resources for a wide range of ages, abilities and interests. Next to the library is a well-used teacher resource and resource management area. This becomes a working space for all staff to prepare and repair resources for use across the school.

Te Whare Kahikatea

This is the central hub of our school and is used by the school for events, such as concerts and displaying the children’s art and craft on Show Day. It is used for all school weekly KidZone hui every Friday morning.

Edible Garden
Planted, weeded and maintained by the whole school, the edible garden provides not only food for the students but is a much-treasured tool for learning. The school runs an edible gardens programme that is supported by the Marlborough District Council and enables the school to employ an Edible Gardens Facilitator.

Native Garden
The native garden belongs to the students.  Wherever possible it is developed and maintained by them. Adorned by sculptures created by Fairhall families for past Show Days, the native garden attracts birdlife as well as being a retreat for reflection and play.

Okaramio Room

A teaching and learning space that provides opportunities for specialist ESOL and Music tuition. The room was named after the building it is attached to transferred to Fairhall School from Okaramio School when the school closed on 30 June 2001.

Conference Room
The Conference provides a private meeting space for staff, the school board and other users where confidentiality and privacy may be required.

Medical Room
A modern, up to date facility with changing space and shower.
