Staff

STEVE CROCKETT
Principal
Steve is currently in charge of EOTC across the school. He is the key contact for enrolments at Fairhall School, for pastoral care of foreign fee paying students and heads the senior leadership team. Steve leads school-wide Inquiry and is also has a role in the Mathematics, Science and Technology, and Sustainability teams.

TEACHING TEAM – GOLD (Years 5-8)

COLIN WOOD
Deputy Principal 

Teacher – Nikau (Year 7 and 8)

Colin teaches Year 7 & 8 students in Ruma Nikau. He is a support teacher in the areas of ICT (including Google applications), Learning Languages and Health and PE. Colin is also involved in co-ordinating various sports codes throughout the school. Colin is a member of the school’s Health and Safety team, Science and Technology, Sustainability and the Environment. As Deputy Principal Colin co-ordinates school rosters , timetables and ‘day to day’ relieving across the school, and is also part of the Senior Leadership Team.

HELEN MARSHALL

Teacher – Horoeka (Year 7 and 8)

Helen teaches in Ruma Horoeka, currently at the Year 7 and 8 level and is working with teacher Colin Wood in a Flexible Learning Environment.  Helen is our teacher in charge of school-wide Science and a member of both Science and Mathematics Curriculum teams. She has also taken up the position of ‘Within School Lead’ for our school’s involvement in the Piritahi CoL – a community of learning involving 21 schools across Marlborough.

AARON SANGSTER
Gold Team Leader

Teacher – Kauri (Year 5 and 6)

Aaron currently teaches in Ruma Kauri at the Year 5 and 6 level and leads the Gold Team of teachers from Years 5 to 8 . He is the team leader of the English Curriculum team. Aaron is also involved in co-ordinating various sports codes across the school and is a support teacher in the area of Health and PE. This year Aaron continues the operation of our Flexible Learning Environment (FLE) alongside colleagues Anne Taylor and Katie Bradley. Aaron has been appointed the Staff Trustee to the Fairhall School Board of Trustees. Aaron is also a member of the inquiry team and is our Literacy Leader across the school.

KATIE BRADLEY
Teacher – Totara (Year 5 and 6)

Katie currently co-teaches in Ruma Totara with Anne at the Year 5 and 6 level. She is a member of the Mathematics Curriculum team. Katie is also our School Sports Co-ordinator for all sports codes across the school. She leads our school’s kapahaka group each Wednesday and is working with teachers Anne Taylor and Aaron Sangster in a FLE.

ANNE TAYLOR

Teacher – Totara (Year 5 and 6)

Anne currently co-teaches in Ruma Totara with Katie Bradley at the Year 5 and 6 level and is working with teachers Katie Bradley and Aaron Sangster in a FLE. She is a member of the English Curriculum team. Anne is also involved in co-ordinating various sports codes across the school. Anne takes on our school Choir for annual participation in concerts and music festivals. Anne also is our school’s NZEI representative.

TEACHING TEAM – BLUE (Years 1-4)

CAROLYN ORR
Assistant Principal and Blue Team Leader
Teacher – Pohutukawa (Year 4)
Carolyn co-teaches with Briony Boulton in our Year 4 class in Ruma Pohutukawa and is working with teachers Vicky and Amanda Gorham in a Flexible Learning Environment (FLE). Carolyn supports Steve and Colin in  leadership across the school. She takes overall responsibility as our school’s Special Needs co-ordinator (SENCO). She manages programmes and timetabling for our Learning Support staff. Carolyn  is on the Senior Leadership Team. Carolyn is also a member of our Literacy, Inquiry and Science/Technology teams.

VICKY HAWES

Teacher – Kowhai (New Entrants) and CRT Release
Vicky co-teaches in Ruma Kowhai with Paula Ferguson. Vicky also takes on Classroom Release Time (CRT) across the school, working at all levels.

AMANDA GORHAM
Teacher – Rimu (Year 2 and 3)

Amanda teaches Year 2 and 3 students in Ruma Rimu and works alongside Assistant Principal and Blue team leader, Carolyn Orr as part of a two class FLE with Ruma Pohutukawa. Amanda is a member of the English Curriculum team and gives support to the development of ICT and Enviroschools across the school.

JULIETTE MILLER
Teacher – Harakeke (Year 1 and 2)

Juliette teaches a Year 1 and 2 class in Ruma Harakeke. Juliette is a member of the English Curriculum team.

PAULA FERGUSON
Teacher – Kowhai – (new Entrants)

Paula is appointed to Ruma Kowhai for this year and works Monday to Wednesday as our New Entrant teacher, working with Vicky Hawes. She assists with Literacy and Sustainability curriculum teams and brings exceptional experience to the junior school area.

BRIONY BOULTON
Teacher – Nikau and Pohutukawa (Year 7 and 8, Year 4)

Briony Boulton returns from Maternity Leave this year and covers release for Deputy Principal, Colin Wood, as well as co-teaches with Carolyn Orr in Ruma Pohutukawa.

SUSIE GLOVER
Teacher – (CRT)

Susie Glover teaches across the school taking on Classroom Release Time (CRT) at all levels.

KIRSTEN BURNS
Reading Recovery
Kirsten is our reading recovery teacher. She also assists the school with testing students for their Six Year Net tests and gives guidance with junior reading through data analysis.

STAFF LEARNING SUPPORT

JOY NEAL
Support Staff Team Leader, Resourcing
Joy manages the school library and resource area and is the liaison between support staff and school management. A long serving support staff member, Joy is responsible for school resources, including first aid supplies, and is a member of the health and safety and Senior Leadership Team.

AMBER BROOKS
Amber assists with learning across the school and is our Edible Gardens Co-ordinator. She has supported the school in a range of roles and responsibilities over the years working with individual students and with groups, lately taking on the role as ESOL support for an international student.

RACHAEL ARTHUR
Rachael assists with the learning of one of our HHNS funded students as well as classroom support to other students in the junior school area.

ALI KAY
Ali has a wealth  experience as a support staff worker as she was a teacher herself. She works alongside teachers and works with individuals and small groups.

PHILLIPA KITCHIN
Phillipa assists with the learning of one of our HHNS funded students as well as classroom support to other students in the junior school area.

JASVIR KAUR
Jasvir assists with the learning of one of our HHNS funded students as well as classroom support to other students in the junior school area.
