Fairhall School has a broad range of safe and effective curriculum-based learning that extends beyond the classroom walls. This is referred to as EOTC or Education Outside The Classroom.
In Year 4, junior students begin to stretch their wings with a two night camp at Pine Valley Outdoor Centre. In Year 5 students spend four days at Mistletoe Bay in the Queen Charlotte Sound and in Year 6 students spend 4 days at Deep Creek in the Wakamarina Valley or Lake Rotoiti Outdoor Centre and surrounding area.
Senior school students run a three yearly camping programme that incorporates a visit to Wellington, completing the Tongariro Crossing, and one other outdoor education experience. In the students’ final year at Fairhall School they complete a tramp of Abel Tasman National Park.
