Out of zone enrolments

Each year the board will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following year for students living outside the homezone.

In 2015 the board plans to hold a ballot for out of zone places in October only.  Contact the school office for more information.

The board will publish this information in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by school.  The notice will outline how applications are to be made and will specify dates by which applications must be received.

Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority.

PRIORITY I: Special Programme.  This priority category is not applicable to this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the secretary.
PRIORITY II: will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
PRIORITY III: will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
PRIORITY IV: will be given to applicants who are children of former students of the school.
PRIORITY V: will be given to applicants who are either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.
PRIORITY VI: will be given to all other applicants.

If there are more applicants than places, selection will take place by ballot as under section 11g(1) of the Education Act 1989.  Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating the area served by the school.

Families moving to the area, and those who strongly wish their students to attend Fairhall are encouraged to
contact the school principal.
